Emergency Crisis Shelter

Our Emergency Shelter provides free of charge, temporary, safe accommodation for women and children experiencing family violence or other life crisis.

The emergency shelter is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The length of stay can be anywhere from a few days up to three weeks. We are here to help women and their children stay safe from family violence.

Case Plan

Women staying at the shelter are offered ongoing case plan support. The focus of this is to assist in creating a plan and working towards goals for after discharge from the shelter. Case planning is specific to each client’s needs and can include:

  • Safety planning
  • Advocacy
  • Referrals
  • Emotional Support
  • Education on family violence

Outreach support is also available after discharge from the shelter to to continue making connections in the community and follow up on tasks that may not have been completed during the shelter stay.

Family Support

Our Family Support team provides support to meet the unique needs of the families who are currently staying in the shelter. The main focus of our work is to build supportive, trusting relationships with every mother and child that helps them to move forward. We provide support by:

  • Promoting emotional and physical well-being
  • Building capacity to cope
  • Strengthening family bonds
