Emergency Shelter Topics:

Q: Will the abuser be able to find me?

A: We have many safety measures in place, inside and outside the shelter, and will work with you to help keep you comfortable and safe. Unless you leave the building, we will do everything we can to keep you safe.

Q: What will happen with my children?

A: We have many child friendly activities and programs for your children while they are in the shelter. Our Child Support Workers can work with your children while they are in the shelter to ensure their needs are met.

Q: What about school for my children?

A: We will ensure the children’s educational needs continue to be met.

Q: What do I do about custody and access?

A: We do not offer legal advice but our Crisis Intervention Workers will help you find the correct information or resources for you to work on custody and access issues while you are in the shelter.

Q: Do I have to pay to stay there?

A: No, your stay is free of charge.

Q: Do I have to pay for the Community Programs?

A: No, with the exception of our New Perspectives for Men Program, our programs are free of charge for everyone.

Q: What about my pets?

A: If you have pets you want to take with you, arrangements can be made through the shelter with the local SPCA.

Q: How long can I stay?

A: You can stay up to 21 days, exceptions under special circumstances.

Q: How do I get there?

A: Please contact a Crisis Intervention Worker to make arrangements for arriving at the shelter. You can call (780) 875-0966; collect calls accepted.

Q: How do I get to my appointments if I am in the shelter?

A: Crisis Intervention Workers will assist you with your transportation needs.

Q: What is the admission criteria?

A: Please call a Crisis Intervention Worker at (780) 875-0966 for specific information on admission criteria. You can call collect if needed.

Q: Where do I go when my stay at the shelter is over?

A: Our Crisis Intervention Workers will assist you with your housing needs while you are in the shelter.

Q: Can anyone contact me there?

A: Your stay at the shelter is confidential and we will post messages for you.

For the Interval Store Topics:

Q: What are the store shopping hours?

A: Our Store shopping hours are Monday to Saturday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Q: What can I donate to the store?

A:We are grateful for donations of clothing, housewares, bedding, home decor, and furniture. If you are unsure please feel free to call the store to confirm! The best time to bring the items to the back of the store is any day of the week between 8 am and 6 pm to ensure the items remain at their best quality.

Volunteer Topics:

Q: How old do I have to be to volunteer?

A: You have to be at least 15 years of age and go through the interview and clearance process. Please see the downloadable form under volunteers in the About Us tab.

Q: What can I do to volunteer?

A: There are many varied opportunities as a volunteer with the Lloydminster Interval Home.  Please see our Volunteer section or call our Volunteer Coordinator at (780) 872-5005 for more information.

Q: What are the application requirements?

A: You have to be at least 15 years of age and go through the interview and clearance process. An application can be downloaded under Volunteers in the About Us section of this website.

Dol-Mar Manor Topics:

Q: How do I get into Dol-Mar Manor?

A: You must be referred from our Emergency Shelter, another Shelter or another community agency or program. There is no direct entry into Dol-Mar Manor.

Q: How long can I stay at Dol-Mar Manor?

A: As long as you are attending all mandatory programs and requirements you can stay for 9 months. Stays can be extended for 1 year in certain circumstances.
